MintRender vs HTML/CSS to Image

HTML/CSS to Image turns HTML and CSS, a web page URL, or a template into an image or PDF through an API, with signed URLs and an MCP server. Below are the prices, the credit rules and the features of both, and when each one is the better pick for you.

Facts about HTML/CSS to Image checked on htmlcsstoimage.com on 1 November 2026. Each one links its source. MintRender is not connected with HTML/CSS to Image.

Pick HTML/CSS to Image when

  • You want to write the design in full HTML and CSS, or take screenshots of web pages. MintRender draws its own templates and does not run HTML.
  • You want MCP and no-code integrations on the free plan.
  • You make about 1,000 images a month: its $14 plan costs less than MintRender's $19 plan (see the table).

Pick MintRender when

  • You want to design in a visual editor made for images and PDFs, with text that fits its box, QR codes, barcodes and charts.
  • You make about 5,000 or 25,000 files a month: MintRender costs less there (see the table).
  • You want SVG output, or 100 free files a month instead of 50.

Credit rules

HTML/CSS to Image

  • Overage is optional, at $10 per 1,000 images. source
  • Jumbo sizes use more image credits; the page does not say how many. source
  • An identical recent image can be reused without using credits (dedupe_duration_s). source
  • The pages do not say whether PDFs cost more, or whether unused images roll over. source

MintRender

  • One image or one PDF page costs one credit, for every template and every format.
  • If you send the same template and data again, you get the stored file for free. Previews, test keys and failed renders also cost nothing.
  • Extra credits are off until you turn them on, and you set a monthly spending limit. Unused credits do not carry over.

Move from HTML/CSS to Image

Make the template again in the MintRender editor (or start from a template), give each changing layer the same field name, then change the API call.

HTML/CSS to Image source

curl -X POST https://hcti.io/v1/image/TEMPLATE_ID \ -u "$HCTI_API_ID:$HCTI_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "template_values": { "title": "Hello world" } }'

MintRender

curl -X POST https://mintrender.com/v1/render \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $MINTRENDER_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "template": "YOUR_TEMPLATE_ID", "data": { "title": "Hello world" }, "format": "png" }'
  • template_values becomes data, with the same names. Basic auth (API id and key) becomes one Bearer key.
  • An HTML template does not move as it is: draw the design again in the MintRender editor, or ask the AI template maker for a first version.
