Pick Bannerbear when
- You need animations and video tools (MP4 or transparent MOV, subtitles, voiceover) next to your images.
- You want AI layers such as face detection and background removal in the same render.
- You want requests refused when credits run out, never billed past the plan.
Pick MintRender when
- You want a lower price per file: the table below compares the plans at three volumes.
- You want one credit per file. Bannerbear multiplies credits by the number of formats and by the scale.
- You want signed links on every plan. Bannerbear's Instant URLs start on the Scale plan.

Credit rules
Bannerbear
- One image render is one credit, multiplied by the number of formats and by the scale: JPG and PNG at scale 2 is four credits. source
- Animation: two credits a second, rounded up; 60 fps doubles it. source
- AI features cost one credit each, per layer that uses them, on top of the render. source
- When credits run out, requests are refused; there is no overage price on the page. source
- Usage resets at the start of every month. source
- The Scale and Enterprise plans offer larger credit choices; the page does not show their prices, so the table uses the first choice. source
MintRender
- One image or one PDF page costs one credit, for every template and every format.
- If you send the same template and data again, you get the stored file for free. Previews, test keys and failed renders also cost nothing.
- Extra credits are off until you turn them on, and you set a monthly spending limit. Unused credits do not carry over.
